I was informed that my last post was too “short and sweet” so I really buckled down on my psych paper that is due tomorrow so that I could fit in part two tonight as well! Also, since probably half the people that read this took part in these events and want to hear about stuff they don’t know about already, I will be posting yet again tomorrow! Hope you’re all ready for the excitement!
UK – Part Two consists of the Nelsen’s time in London so right off the bat we have some views of London from the top of St. Paul’s Cathedral (which I hadn’t done yet).
For lunch a few of us (who were brave enough :P) tried out Yo! Sushi, a restaurant that sends dishes around on a conveyor belt for you to choose from.
Mitchell picking out his main dish
The next day we were hoping for a tour of Parliament, but found out it was closed because of riots and protests that day. We were there really early so nothing was going on yet, but barricades were being put up and there were a lot of police around.
Mitch and Em at the House of Parliament
Dad and Mitch watching a mini changing of the Guard – the real deal was also cancelled because of protests
Nicole on Tower Bridge
The sisters at the Tower of London
We managed to miss the hotspots for riots and protesters until dinner time when we ventured to Piccadilly Circus.
Nothing too drastic happening, just a lot of people and helicopters overhead
Trafalgar Square - The next day you could see all the flags and signs left on monuments from protesters
The family had left by now - Alex and I stayed another night because he surprised me with tickets to the show Stomp. We managed to catch the Changing of the Guard, and check out Covent Gardens before going to the show. Stomp was awesome and had us making music to the city’s “tunes” the rest of our stay.
Again, watch out for another post right away. I'm going to be writing about my some of my spring break!
I had sooo much fun. If you ever miss your alma mater and want a travel partner call me first! :-P
ReplyDeleteYo! Sushi was cool...but I gotta tell ya, Fuji is still numero uno in my heart...we should go some weekend after you get back!?
